We believe that our community thrives when we can lean on each other in times of need. The deacons are an extension of the pastoral ministry of Mountain View, and we help care for our both our congregation and the Marysville community.
What do Deacons do?
- Visit those in the hospital or at home
- Take meals to families in difficult times
- Prepare the elements for communion and serve communion at home for those unable to attend services
- Set up the baptismal equipment
- Distribute emergency financial assistance (within the church and the broader community)
- Assist with household tasks, moving, etc.
- Coordinate food bank drives
- Provide hospitality for memorial services
I need help, how do I get in touch with a Deacon?
Each deacon is matched with a set of congregants (members or attenders) to serve as a liaison for those families.
